Cleaning Porcelain Brentwood

Cleaning tiles and grout needs to come hand in hand. So many forget about the grout lines when contemplating cleaning stone tiles. Errors can be made when completing routine cleaning. Essentially when you introduce water or cleaning fluid onto tiles and start moving it around, you are likely to push dirt and grime into the grout lines. Even attempting to be careful will not be enough to avoid this. Why? Grout lines are slightly dipped so therefore gravity carries the dirt into these areas.

Cleaning Tiles and Grout – What cleans grout best?

There are many grout cleaning solutions out there. Firstly, it is important that you select one that will not damage the grout as a porous material. If you prefer cleaning your grout with a DIY mixture, one way is to make a paste. This should consist of 3/4-cup baking soda, 1/4-cup hydrogen peroxide and 1 tablespoon of mild dish soap. You can then apply the paste and scrub the grout with a grout brush. This will take some hard work and elbow grease.

Here is a grout cleaning tip: make sure to scrub hard to agitate the grout and cleaning solution and break up any really stuck dirt. We are often asked if bleach can ruin grout. We highly advise against using ammonia or bleach to clean any grout. Cleaning solutions containing bleach or ammonia will erode your grout over time. Furthermore, they will cause your grout to become even dirtier. Why is this? These solutions can leave behind a film which then attracts dirt.
